Rule 160 of ‘Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules 2017’: Recovery from Company in Liquidation

Provisions under Rule 160 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017 relating to “Recovery from Company in Liquidation”, are as under:

CGST Rule 160: Recovery from Company in Liquidation (Chapter-XVIII: DEMANDS AND RECOVERY) 

Where the company is under liquidation as specified in section 88, the Commissioner shall notify the liquidator for the recovery of any amount representing tax, interest, penalty or any other amount due under the Act in FORM GST DRC-24.

It may be noted that Rules 139 to 162 (pertaining to various Chapters) of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017 were notified by CBEC vide CGST (3rd Amendment) Rules, 2017 Notification No. 15/2017 Central Tax dt. 1 July 2017, applicable w.e.f. 1 July 2017.
